Reentry Award

The PbS Reentry Award was created in 2016 to provide the little things that we all need but youths leaving juvenile justice rarely have access to. It is designed to make the transition to independent living as smooth as possible. Knowing that so many bumps and barriers already exist, something as simple as sheets and blankets or clothes for an interview or work can make all the difference.

2021 Reentry Award Winners

In 2021, awards were granted to all nine youths who applied from five facilities across five states:

  • Ferris School, Delaware Youth Rehabilitative Services Division
  • Illinois Youth Center Chicago, Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice
  • Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex, Kansas Department of Corrections – Juvenile Services
  • Long Creek Youth Development Center, Maine Department of Corrections
  • Summit View Youth Center, Nevada Division of Child and Family Services
