Raising the Bar on Juvenile Reentry: Building Reentry Data Capacity

On November 15, 2022, Performance-based Standards (PbS) hosted a webinar featuring a panel of the coordinators currently receiving training and technical assistance through the Improving Juvenile Reentry Programs Capacity for Data Collection, Analysis, and Reporting project. Panelists discussed how they improved their agency's reentry data capacity and how the work they have done can be applied in other juvenile justice settings. This panel was moderated by Kim Godfrey Lovett, Executive Director of PbS, and Melissa Sickmund, Director of the National Center for Juvenile Justice.

Research Brief: Family visitation, behavioral incidents, and staff safety: What changed in the COVID-19 era?

This brief looks at family visitation, staff safety, and behavioral incidents before (April 2019) and after (April 2021) the start of the pandemic. There are two aims: 1) to assess if facility-level family visits, staff perceptions of safety, and behavioral incidents post-pandemic significantly differ from pre-pandemic expected levels, and 2) to assess the relationship between family visits and behavioral incidents as well as the relationship between behavioral incidents and staff safety.
