2020 Employment Matching Award

Performance-based Standards (PbS) is pleased to announce the Employment Matching Award is now accepting applications for 2020.

PbS believes teenagers thrive when they are trusted to earn their own money. The new PbS Education and Employment Foundation allows the opportunity for more youths to earn the PbS Employment Matching Award and will match up to $1,000 of what selected youths earn from July 1 - Sept. 1, 2020. The winners will receive the funds upon release. Applications will be accepted until June 30, 2020.

In order to be considered, youths must:

  • Be a resident of a state or county facility or community residential program participating in PbS at the time the application is submitted,
  • Be employed between July 1 - Sept. 1, 2020, and
  • Submit all components of the application: applicant information and youth essay, one staff recommendation and proof of employment.

Earnings will be matched only for the time the youth resides at the program.

PbS data is reported every April and October.  PbS trains staff to use the information to change practices and support reforms implementing the adolescent development approach.
